So a Cyclist Walks into a Biker Bar

Tiffin, Iowa - This Thursday, May 26th,Throttle Down will be hosting a special event to kick off the Memorial Day weekend. From 7 to 9 p.m., Johnson County Board of Supervisors Democratic candidate Kurt Friese will hold a meet-and-greet, and Aren Van Houzen, of Tiffin-based Van Houzen Brewing Company, will offer his line-up of beers for tasting. In addition, Throttle Down will have their weekly Thirsty Thursday drink specials from 6 p.m. to midnight. Sand volleyball games will also take place during the evening.

Friese plans to talk with area residents who want to learn more about his campaign, in addition to discussing their concerns about the county’s future. Early voting in the election has begun, with the primary being held on June 7.

Van Houzen BrewingCompany will provide tastes of the current beer line-up, including a Belgiantripel and a double chocolate stout. Van Houzen will be giving away a keg of beer, in addition to other items.

Throttle Down will begiving prizes to event attendees, including a pizza party for 10. Throttle Down is a restaurant/nightclub that opened at 607 E. Marengo Road, also known asHighway 6, in 2011.
